The three companies comprising The Audio Systems Group began in 1974 when founder and President, Ivan H. Ledrew recognized an opportunity and incorporated Audio Systems Ltd. to supply Industrial Audio Communications and Security Systems to the Newfoundland & Labrador market. With a background in Communications which started as a Radio Operator in the mid 1950's with a two-year stint at Frobisher Bay on Baffin Island (Iqaluit), he became involved in the Oil Industry and based in Ottawa in the early 1960's set up Navigational Systems for the Seismic Program in the Hudson's Bay and on the Grand Banks. In 1965 he joined Colonial Broadcasting System in Broadcast Engineering. Twenty years of hands-on involvement in the industry set the stage for Audio Systems Ltd. in 1974.

Starting at the bottom with one employee and a vision, there was no place to go but up. The company expanded into the Industrial Audio/Video market and by the mid 80's had employed a staff of 17. The accompanying dossier is proof of the organization's diversity in Industrial Communications Systems and Products. We were especially proud to have been chosen as the supplier of the high powered Public Address/Paging System in use at the Deep Water Site, during the Hibernia GBS Construction. The company has just completed the sound systems in the Corner Brook Civic Centre--one of the largest permanent installations of its kind in Eastern Canada.

Audio Systems Ltd. has represented major suppliers of Industrial Systems continuously for the past 30 years and services it's customers with factory-trained sales and service personnel.
